Prashant Pitti Is Back—And He’s Changing Lending in India

From booking flights to unlocking credit, EaseMyTrip co-founder Prashant Pitti is on a new mission. His fintech venture, Optimo Capital, has raised Rs 150 crore in equity funding, led by Pitti himself, with backing from Blume Ventures and Omnivore.

But that’s not all—Optimo also secured Rs 110 crore in debt funding from IDFC First Bank and Axis Bank, and talks are underway with other major banks for co-lending partnerships.

The Problem Optimo Solves: Loans for the Credit Invisible

Millions of small-business owners and self-employed professionals in India own property but can’t get loans because of limited credit history. Optimo Capital’s digital loans against property (LAP) aim to fix that—helping borrowers unlock money using their real estate assets.

In just 18 months, Optimo has already built a Rs 350 crore loan book across 56 cities, including in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh.

Loans That Work for Real People

Here’s why Optimo is getting attention:

  • Monthly Disbursal: Rs 50-70 crore
  • Loan Sizes: Rs 10 lakh – Rs 1 crore
  • Low Risk: Gross NPAs only 0.6% (industry average ~2%)
  • Higher Access: Loan-to-value ratio of 43%, giving bigger loans at lower interest rates

Basically, Optimo is opening the door to credit that traditional banks often ignore.

Funding to Supercharge Growth

The Rs 150 crore funding will help Optimo:

  • Upgrade technology and AI systems
  • Expand into tier-III cities
  • Improve underwriting, risk management, and operational efficiency

The goal? Close the current fiscal year with a loan book of Rs 650-700 crore, doubling its reach in under two years.

The Massive Opportunity

India’s mortgage-to-GDP ratio is just 9%, highlighting huge untapped potential. The mid-ticket LAP segment alone is a Rs 22 lakh crore market, of which only 28% is currently served.

Omnivore partner Reihem Roy said, “Optimo’s tech-first approach positions it perfectly to tap into this massive opportunity and serve borrowers who have been ignored by traditional lenders.”

Why This Matters

Optimo isn’t just giving loans—it’s redefining access to credit. With tech-driven underwriting and AI-powered processes, small-business owners and self-employed professionals can now secure larger, affordable loans with minimal risk.

Prashant Pitti is turning property into real financial power, proving that smart fintech can unlock hidden capital across India.

The Bottom Line

From EaseMyTrip to Optimo Capital, Pitti shows a knack for spotting gaps in markets and disrupting them. With Rs 150 crore in equity funding, a strong debt backbone, and a rapidly growing loan book, Optimo is poised to transform property-backed lending in India.

If you’re a small-business owner, this is the fintech story you can’t afford to ignore.
